Continuing your journey in the Johto Region and specifically arriving in the city of Ecruteak, you are faced with a huge secret and a massive story.

You are all familiar with the Legendary PokƩmon Ho-Oh and the Legendary Beasts/Dogs Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. But where did the three latter ones originate from and why are they found in the Burned Tower?

This tower has been burned for 150 years since you embarked on your journey in PokĆ©mon Silver/Gold and Crystal. Before the massive destruction, the tower was known as the Brass Tower. Some rumors suggest that Lugia resided there, but after the tower was destroyed, Lugia left for the Whirl Islands. Meanwhile, Ho-Oh, who lived in the Bell Tower, flew away in search of a “genuine” and authentic PokĆ©mon Trainer.

And while the fire was destroying everything in its path, three PokƩmon became trapped in the flames, with Ho-Oh returning and reviving them once the fire had been extinguished.

And those PokĆ©mon are none other than the Legendary Beasts/Dogs Raikou, Entei, and Suicune. The legend further states that after they were revived and faced the world, people were so afraid of these three PokĆ©mon that the Beasts were forced to leave the city and seek another area to live in. That’s why during your journey, you encounter them in random areas and various routes. Other legends suggest that they left in order to continue Ho-Oh’s mission as a token of gratitude for saving them and to find the “true” PokĆ©mon Trainer, which at this stage of the game is you!
